The Dreamtime
is the time before time - when all things were being created and when
everything was 'learning' to exist. Depicting all things as equal, the
teachings of the Dreamtime suggest that we are capable of communing with
the forces of nature and to speak readily to the animals, birds, reptiles,
fish and insects.
A letter from the Earth Mother to the Children of the World
A Message from Mother to all the children of the Earth; a message
of love, hope and intrinsic connection sent from Mother Earth to us, her
children
Inspired by Scott's
CREATURE TEACHER CARDS, illustrated by Sioux Dollman
Have you ever sat and wondered what
the Earth Mother would say to you if she could speak? Well, what if she
could? What if she could let you know what was on her mind?
Well … ‘I am your Mother; a letter from the Earth Mother to
the Children of the World’ is just that … a letter from Mother
Earth to you, her children; the leaders, teachers, healers, parents and
protectors of tomorrow. She is in need of your help and this page is her
call to arms; a wake-up call; a loving letter destined to remind you of
your inherent relationship with her, the animals and nature as a whole.
It’s a call for unity, an invitation to reconnect with her and rekindle
the wisdom, power and insight that surrounds us each and every day in
the guise of the animal kingdom.
Child,
This is your Earth Mother speaking.
You are so precious to me. I love you so very much.
We are connected, you and I. Connected at the heart.
I hear you sing.
I
watch you play.
I
feel you dance.
I
laugh when you laugh.
I
cry when you cry.
We are connected.
We
are ONE.
I am your Mother, and you are my child. And all my other children are
your brothers and sisters.
You
are my family, and I love you all equally.
All you need is provided with love: material to build your homes, fabric
to make your clothes and grain, meat and vegetation to eat.
I
offer you everything because I want you to grow.
I
want you to prosper.
I
love you so very much.
I am your Mother. I watch over you when you’re lost. I sing to you
when you’re lonely, and I speak to you when you’re confused.
I speak from my heart, because that is where my love for you resides.
When you speak to me, I listen. When you ask me a question, I answer.
But I have noticed of late that you seem to have forgotten how to hear
me – and that makes me sad. And because you cannot hear me, I have
noticed you have stopped speaking to me.
Have
you forgotten me? Have you forgotten me because you think I have forgotten
you?
Oh,
I hope not – because that would make me very sad.
I am your Mother. I speak to you every day. I want you to be happy, healthy
and abundant.
I
speak to you everyday, guiding you, showing you … but you have forgotten
how to hear me. I feel alone, unheard, forsaken. And I am beginning to
feel ill. I fear I may be sick; sick with sadness and grief. Do you feel
that way, too?
Do you not remember, my darling child, the promise I made to you when
you were first born? Do you not remember me whispering in your ear, promising
never to forget you? You could hear me then. Do you not remember how to
hear me now? How to hear my heartbeat? How to feel my loving embrace,
my gentle kiss? Oh, how it saddens me that you may not.
Look to the animals, precious child.
Look
to the animals, for they are my voice.
They
are my messengers.
I am your Mother. I need you to remember me; to hear me; to speak to me.
I
need you to bring me back into your life – to honour me, to give
thanks.
The next time you find yourself confused, afraid, worried or sad, remember
me. Speak to me. Share your worries and fears with me. Tell me what angers
you, and what makes you sad. Ask me for my wisdom, and I will answer you.
I promise. I will answer you each and every time you call to me. And I
will answer immediately. I will send you a messenger; an animal who’s
Dreaming carries the wisdom to answer your question. And if you’re
quick enough to notice the animal, and you open your heart up to hearing
its message, you will never be confused afraid, worried or sad again.
That is my promise to you.
Heed the messages of the animals, little one, and you will never stray
from your truth again. No more will you be confused, lost or lonely. No
more will you be afraid or angry. The animals are my voice. Live in harmony
with the animals, and learn to live in harmony with your fellow man. In
doing so, you will return to me. Love me and nurture every part of me;
the animals, the forests, mountains, rivers and streams, for they are
all your brothers and sisters. The beaches, deserts, lakes and valleys
- they are your family. Imagine a world in which you don’t have
a family - a world that doesn’t have animals. Would you want to
live in a world like that? Imagine a world with no woodlands, grasslands
or coral reefs. Honestly, would you want to live there? I don’t
think so – but if we don’t pull together and take better care
of each other, that’s the world we will end up with. So, I need
you to call to your two-legged brothers and sisters and ask them to help
you take better care of their home, to take better care of me. Teach them
about the animals. Show them how to hear me. Help them remember, to reconnect
to my heart. And we can walk as one. We WILL walk as one.

The Earth is our Mother
“The Earth is our
Mother. We are her children. Like any mother, she wants us to grow, heal
and unite as a people. She speaks to us every day. She speaks to us in
a symbolic tongue. A tongue we have long forgotten and no longer understand.
That language is older than words and is presented to us in the form of
animals. The animals each have a message to impart. We need to look once
again to the ways of the animals, and integrate their wisdom into our
lives. The animals do not make mistakes. Spirit does not make mistakes.
If we heed the medicine ways of the animals, we, too, will forget how
to make mistakes. The ancients knew this ancient language. And we are
being urged to remember it.” - Scott Alexander King

“The Creature Teacher
Cards [animal oracle cards and 130 page guidebook, with artwork by Sioux
Dollman] are simply sublime. It is said to be "animal wisdom for
all ages" and is clearly intended for the young of flesh and/or the
child within. The artwork opens my heart at each picture: there are 45
cards and every one is my favourite. I would gladly expose my children
to this and hope it brings much joy and healing to them. It is gratifying
to find media worthy of an exemplary review. The Creature Teacher cards
are a masterpiece.”
