What are PRAYER TIES? Traditional to the Lakota and Cherokee people, Prayer Ties are small fabric bundles that typically contain tobacco or cornmeal wrapped, that are either tied to the branches of trees, buried during ceremony, or left in sacred places as offerings of prayer, intention, and gratitude.
Like the Prayer Flags of Tibet, the belief regarding Prayer Ties is that anyone who happens across a bundle or string of Prayer Ties are said to be blessed by the intentions and prayers imbued by the one who made them.
